Value Chain Academy aims to contribute to society by enhancing local healthcare systems and increasing access to medicine. This is achieved through the provision of the educational program, which focuses on value chain and quality in supply policies and processes. The program is designed for students and professionals in the field and is delivered online in real time by subject matter experts from Novartis. Since its inception in 2018, the program has successfully reached learners in 8 low- and middle-income countries across Africa, while also being certified for Continuing Professional Development (CPD).
Upon completion of the Value Chain Academy program, participants would acquire a comprehensive understanding of value chain and quality in supply policies and processes within the healthcare industry. They would possess the knowledge and skills to contribute to the enhancement of local healthcare systems and increase access to medicine in their respective communities.
Quality in Supply Module takes 15.5 hours and Supply Chain Management Module takes 17 hours, plus two Practical Session each of 2.5 hour.
Course Objectives
The objectives of this training are to:
Improve access to medicine by reducing wastage caused by poor planning, delivery, and storage practices.
Decrease the risk of falsified medicines entering the system, building trust in the quality products.
Provide post-workshop support to drive sustainability.
Assist partners in the development of regionally relevant action plans and solutions to standardize and strengthen local health systems.
