jOINT QUALIFICATION PROGRAMME.

GCPHARM for life

Course Overview

The Faculty of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences has run the MPhil programme in Clinical Pharmacy, MPhil programme in Pharmacology and MSc programme in Pharmaceutical Technology under the School of Graduate studies of the university for many years. The Ghana College of Pharmacists is mandated under law to run relevant professional programmes (membership and fellowship) leading to specialisation in pharmacy in relevant disciplines to improve rational use of medications, including the safety and management of medicines in the hospitals and other health facilities in the country. Both institutions reasoned that a joint programme will improve the scientific and academic strength of graduates from the College and broaden their horizon in Pharmacology/Pharmaceutical Technology/Clinical Pharmacy research and practice. Additionally, this will prepare graduates to support both bedside and interactive teaching in our health institutions and enhance staff development efforts in pharmacy schools nationwide. It will also position graduates involved in pharmaceutical manufacturing industries to take teaching roles at universities, further boosting staff development.
