Fellowship Programme

The Fellowship programmes of the Ghana College of Pharmacists seek to raise a critical mass of well trained and competent specialists and /or consultant pharmacists to meet the country’s advanced pharmaceutical care and related services needs in industry, health facilities, research institutions, product and practice regulation, academia among others which will eventually lead to an overall improvement in the health of people. The Fellowship programmes have been designed to equip residents with advanced knowledge, skills and competence in areas of specialty, making products of the College capable of conducting research, contributing to policy development on sound health, providing leadership and advocacy roles in advancement of pharmacy practice and promoting ethical professional practice. The comprehensive programmes have been developed to meet the needs of pharmacists seeking to upgrade existing skills or obtain new skills. Residents are exposed to scientific principles and practice in their various chosen fields of specialty. Products of the College will benefit from the appointment as specialist pharmacists in the care of patients and it also serves as a real opportunity for career progression to sustain the interest of pharmacists particularly in the public sector and to reduce the brain drain.  In the private sector, it is expected that products of the College will be equipped to perform as technical managers and leaders in their chosen areas as they progress in their career.
