Admission exemption policy

exemption for duly qualified membership and fellowship candidates

Interested applicants may be exempted from the one-year primaries programme if they:

  1. Hold a BPharm/ PharmD with at least 3-years post-qualification experience in a pharmacy-related field;
  2. Possess a Master’s degree relevant to their intended area of specialisation;
  3. Have passed the primaries examinations at the West Africa Postgraduate College of Pharmacists (WAPCP). Applicants will be required to show proof.

Please note:

  • The relevance of postgraduate qualifications will be determined by the Admissions Panel.
  • In some cases, applicants granted exemptions may be required or advised to audit selected courses or subject areas.

Membership (partial exemption)

Applicants who hold PhD in relevant areas to their preferred area of specialisation will be eligible to undertake a 6-month abridged membership residency programme.

 

Fellowship

  1. WAPCP Members may apply for fellowship from GCPharm upon submission of proof of membership and payment of required fees.
  2. WAPCP Fellows seeking equivalent fellowship in the same specialty will be required to:
    1. Sit for the fellowship examinations only
    2. Pay the required fees
