Dr. Mrs. Dorcas Poku Boateng obtained a Bachelor of Pharmacy degree (Hons) from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) in 1992. She then obtained a postgraduate diploma in clinical pharmacy from Robert Gorden University, Glasgow, UK as well as a Masters in clinical Pharmacy from KNUST. She also holds a doctor of pharmacy (PHARM .D) degree from KNUST. She has also pursued a certificate in leadership and management in health from the University of Washington.
A fellow of the Ghana College of pharmacists, has since 2018 been chairperson of the faculty of Clinical Pharmacy. She is by extension, also a member of the Academic Board of the Ghana College of Pharmacists and a member of the current Pharmaceutical Society of Ghana (PSGH) welfare committee.
She has been working at the pharmacy department of Korle-bu Teaching hospital since 1992 and currently heads the pharmacy unit of the National Cardio-thoracic center. She is also an adjunct lecturer of the faculty of pharmacy of KNUST and also lectures at the Perioperative and critical care nursing school at the Nursing Training College, Korle bu.
Dorcas is married with two children. Her hobbies include listening to choral music, classical music, hymns, dancing and cooking.
