a Brief Profile.

Marina Annobea Appiah Opare was born on Monday 11th December, 1972 in Sunyani. She had her Ordinary Level education at Aburi Girls Secondary School from September 1985 to June 1990 and her Advance Level education at Ofori Panin Secondary School from September 1990 to June 1992. She proceeded to the University of Ghana Legon from September 1993 to June 1997 and obtained a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree. She obtained her Qualifying Certificate in Law (QCL) from the Ghana School of Law in June 1999. She holds a Post Graduate Diploma (Human Rights) from the Institute of Social Studies, The Hague, Netherlands (March 2002). Marina pursued a Masters degree program in Criminal Justice at the University of Aberdeen, Scotland from January 2018 to January 2019 and was awarded a Master of Laws (LLM) degree in June 2019.

Marina Appiah Opare joined the Office of the Attorney-General as an Assistant State Attorney in October 2000. She has risen through the ranks and is currently a Chief State Attorney with the Prosecutions Division. Her work includes representing the Republic of Ghana in court in criminal matters and giving legal advice on behalf of the Attorney-General to the Police and other law enforcement agencies.

Her hobbies are – reading, writing and listening to music.
