Kwabena Ohene-Manu is the Managing Director of Oyster Healthcare Limited, a company  engaged in  the  wholesale  distribution  of  pharmaceuticals, medical and surgical disposables as well as medical diagnostic instruments.

He had his secondary school education at  Prempeh College in Kumasi and proceeded to the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science & Technology, Kumasi (KNUST) graduating with the B.Pharm degree in 1967.  He has  attended several Post-graduate Certificate Courses in various aspects of Management in Ghana, United  Kingdom,   Uganda and  Malaysia   and was  a Part-time   Lecturer  in Management at the Faculty of Pharmacy, KNUST, Kumasi.

After graduation in 1967, he worked for Pfizer and in 1971 joined the GLAXO as General Manager responsible for GLAXO businesses in Ghana, Liberia, Sierra Leone and The Gambia. He left GLAXO in 1981  to establish Oyster Healthcare Limited.He served on  the  Councils  of the  Commonwealth Pharmacists Association  and the  West African Postgraduate College of Pharmacists and a number of positions on the Council  of the Pharmaceutical Society of Ghana and in 1983 the President of the Society.

He was a member of the Search Committee for Vice-Chancellor for the KNUST in 1998. He was the Chairman of the  First Pharmacy Council  (1995-1999); and a Member of the  Governing Board  of the  Ghana Investment Promotion  Centre (2002-2005). He was a Member of the Advisory Board of the Ministry of Health from February,

2010 to December, 2012. He is a Fellow of the Pharmaceutical Society of Ghana, and also Foundation Fellow of both the West African Postgraduate College of Pharmacists and the Ghana College of Pharmacists.

His interest in Social and Voluntary work found  expression in his joining Rotary in 1987 and rising to becoming the Assistant Governor of Rotary International District 9100 in 2002. He is currently the Chairman of the Council of the Ghana College of Pharmacists.
